Make sugar cookies that taste like shortbread and melt in your mouth.

Do some yoga and focus on positive things like sugar cookies that taste like shortbread and melt in your mouth.

Soak up some of the amazing sunshine that is going on outside.

Maybe avoid church, sometimes church doesn’t make things better sometimes it makes things way worse. I miss Minnesota every Sunday.

Make some bright pink frosting for your sugar cookies and then lick the frosting off everything it has touched.

Eat a wonderful meal that you did not have to cook yourself.

Watch the Olympics.

Have a 30 minute shower with no interruption.

We went to my mom’s last weekend to celebrate Eva’s first birthday. I can not believe it has been a year. I read what I wrote about my delivery and it seems like it just happened. My life is so different. I am so different. With a kid time goes by much faster. It is a little sad. There are times I stop and try to memorize the moments; her soft skin, her sweet smell, the size of her hands and feet. It doesn’t work though because I can’t remember what she was like 5 months ago. She grows so gradually that I can’t see it but then I turn around and she is walking and babbling and I am wondering when she learned to do all of those things. Kids grow so fast that even if I received my wish and she would grow slower it would still be too fast. Alas, I am subject to the march of time which I was grateful for a week ago.

Eva loves pizza. Actually Eva loves everything. She is not a picky eater.

Good Morning Sunshine or Electric Lemon January

Good Morning Sunshine…

is how I welcome my baby girl to each new day and it is how I welcome 2010……
Good Morning Sunshine!!!

Now it is my opinion that January is the worst month of them all; beside from the fact that some people I love were born during the month of January (one is Eva) it is usually a pretty depressing month. It is normally pretty grey here in Utah during January and you are just coming off the holiday season and you are usually a little pudgy and grumpy and must go back to work. So again, January is the worst month.
To brighten January up a bit I have declared Electric Lemon my color for January. See below.

You can’t really see the electric in this picture but it is the color of the yellow text above. Seriously this shirt is so bright it forces you to smile and think of sunny days ahead. I love it. (I realize that the yellow text color is annoying and hard to read but the shirt is not annoying or hard to see.)

I have been looking forward to 2010 for a while now. It is a new beginning for me. I am finally in the light at the end of my tunnel, hence Electric Lemon. I gave myself some goals for this new year and I am, so far, feeling confident that I have left some things back in 2009 which needed to be left.

My back is turned to the past and I have turned to live fully in my Electric Lemon present.

My resolution for the New Year is to touch people more (don’t be a pervert). Touch is important in our lives and a loving touch is extra important. So if I don’t touch you then touch me (still don’t be a pervert).

Have a Regular Christmas-Festival of Trees 2009

Today the Festival of Trees starts and me, my sister and mom all put a gingerbread house together again.

Last year we put in a lot of work so this year we decided to do something easier and simple.

My mom did the cardinal with just frosting. She is amazing.

So if you want to help the sick kids go to the Festival of Trees.

I will be there tomorrow night if you want to get my autograph.

Halloween Party

I had a Halloween Party.

It was a lot of fun. I highly recommend you throw one.

My sister made the little mummies.

I dressed up as a witch. I have never been a witch before. I love it!

Eva was an owl. I will get some better pictures of her to share.

I love my friends, I love Halloween, I love having friends over to celebrate Halloween.

19. My In-Laws

I have amazing in-laws and they actually like me too.

It is a rare thing to love your in-laws and like to be around them but I do.

They are kind, generous, loving and forgiving.

It also helps that I am married to the favorite child of the family.

I Am Thankful!!!! I AM!!!!

The time has flown by. I like writing because it grounds me and helps me to reflect on the day and what I have been doing.

Now I am racking my brain to remember the days past.

But I am still thankful and now will catch up.

15. The Women in my Family

(My sister Natalie, Princess Aurora and my mom on a girls only trip to Disneyland. We ate dinner with the princesses and were the only table without kids. It was so much fun!)

On Saturday my mom and sister had a baby shower for me and I was surrounded by some of the amazing women of my family. Wonderful aunts, cousins, sisters, nieces and a grandma. I am so thankful for the love these women show me and the examples they are to me. Even if I see some of them once a year I am still welcomed with open arms and told that I am loved and I can feel that it is true. I am so happy to be adding another girl to the group and that she can bask in their warmth and love. I also reminded myself that this was just one side of my family and that the amazing women come from all sides of my life. I thank God everyday for my wonderful family.

16. Wheat Pancakes

I grew up on my grandma’s whole wheat pancakes. As a child I could eat what seemed like dozens before I was full. It was one of the things I looked forward to when visiting my grandma. Now I have the recipe and I make them for my family and they are really good but not quite as good as when my grandma makes them. I miss those days when I was only concerned with what I would be eating for breakfast. It is the most important meal of the day you know.

17. Free Stuff

It is always nice to get pleasant surprises that are free to you. Last night Clint and I were surprised with free Jazz tickets. It was a good game with good seats. We had fun and after went to Crown Burger for burgers and shakes.

18. My Vocal Chords

Over the weekend and through today my voice has been gone. My cold took my voice and replaced it with a honk. When I am in a loud place I can not be heard and it is really frustrating to try to yell and just a loud honk comes out at the end of my yelled sentence. Apparently I have a strange voice and it has been made fun of for a big portion of my life but I will be glad to have it back again. It is mine and no one elses. It makes me unique and makes me heard so who am I to judge it. Thank you vocal chords, it sucks to be without you.

Thankful Day 13 & 14

I am sick. I missed work yesterday and stayed in bed all day. It is a bad head cold and it sucks. I hate being sick as I’m sure everyone does but being pregnant and sick sucks even worse. At least the body aches have subsided.

OK, on with so positive.

13. My cats

My cats are my best friends when Clint is away. They are great company. They cuddle me while I sleep and try to keep me warm. Atleast I like to think they try to keep me warm they probably do it to keep themselves warm. They follow me around the house and wait outside the bathroom door for me. They cry and let me know that they need treats or to be put on the bed or to be put outside or whatever. I have requested that my cat Grey greet me in heaven when I die. Her meow makes me so happy.

14. Water

Obviously we couldn’t live without it but nothing is more refreshing than when you are very thirsty and you get a drink of water and it is the perfect temperature so you can just gulp away and completely satisfy yourself. I have never craved water more than when I have been pregnant. It is not just that I need it I crave it and it is soooooo gooooood!! So have a nice cold glass of water today and enjoy!!

12. My Home

Clint and I have moved around a lot in our marriage but no matter where we are I am so thankful to have our own space where our nice warm bed is. I have many luxuries in my home that I forget about on a daily basis for example: a warm shower with water pressure, not having to boil my water before I drink it, having a refridgerator to keep my food preserved, having an A/C and furnace, etc. etc. I’m sure you get the picture.
