We love leaves!

Sweet little owl!

I got this costume from the Martha Stewart Magazine.

I love Disneyland no matter how crazy it is.

The Great Buffalo Roundup on Antelope Island.

Apparently we have some pretty cool bison in Utah.

And they are bison and not buffalo, apparently.

I should have known that already and my dad would be very disappointed if he new I didn’t really remember that. The bison is an important part of our family.

(I have now broken out into the native american song that I learned at Truman Elementary to give homage to our brother the Bison. xoxo Truman Elementary.)

And I actually did what I said I was going to do and I raked leaves and put them in a pile to make mulch.
Aren’t my leaves beautiful?

Seriously, I am very proud of myself.

I often set high expectations for myself and get really excited about how amazing my plans are and then…….. fail miserably.

Happy Halloween everyone.

I went to California and spent the day at Disneyland yesterday, then woke up this morning to 85 degree weather and 3 chocolate croissants. It was wonderful.

I had a Halloween Party.

It was a lot of fun. I highly recommend you throw one.

My sister made the little mummies.

I dressed up as a witch. I have never been a witch before. I love it!

Eva was an owl. I will get some better pictures of her to share.

I love my friends, I love Halloween, I love having friends over to celebrate Halloween.

These are the beautiful leaves that are gracing my yard. I love them.

I am very excited about their potential.
I am going to attempt to make my own mulch with them to use in my garden next year.

My first garden.

Not only do these beautiful leaves provide me shade in the summer and provide me beauty in the fall; they will also help me to grow a big healthy garden to feed me and my family.

Well let’s hope the third one happens.

Potentially Martha will be very proud of me.

As a side note:

A friend told me the other day that the number one place that little kids drown is the toilet! As if I didn’t have enough to worry about, right. So maybe I am an idiot but I have never heard of this. Why isn’t this on The Today Show every day???? Just the thought of that happening is heart wrenching!
So:

Toilet seat down every second? Check.

Constantly running to check if the toilet seat is down even if Eva is safely asleep in her crib? Check.

Buying a toilet seat lock? (ie: the movie Baby Mama) Not yet but will very soon.

Grateful that I only have one toilet to worry about? Check, check, check.

Seriously.

What other hazards am I missing? I need to know!!!!!

Month of Fun fun with an October baby

The Month of Fun is not complete without going to visit the witches

at Gardener Village and picking out your own pumpkins in

a pumpkin patch.

of course this is my favorite witch

We did all of this on my sister’s birthday. It was such a fun day.

I want an October baby so bad.

Which means I would need to get pregnant in January.

Which means I would have to visit my doctor in December.

Which means I might wait until my third baby.

My mom had 2 October babies, a Christmas Day baby and a spring baby.

I hope I can have four babies too.

Advent

A friend reminded me about doing a thankful advent calendar so I have decided to post each day this month what I am thankful for. (If you haven’t checked out Nessa Dee’s blog yet you should. She has delightful art and wonderful photos that are a feast for your eyes. It is in my friends blog list.)

Anyways, Clint and I did this the first year we were married. I hung a paper on the fridge for each of us and each day we would write something that we were thankful for. I know I saved them but I don’t know where they are right now. It would be fun to review them. The only thing I remember that I was thankful for in 1999 was Clint’s red beard and I am still thankful for it today. I am hoping it will give me a child with red hair.

So here is my catch up list and it is in no paticular order:

1: My husband who for some reason loves me.

(I love this picture because I captured his expression when he is teasing me.)

2: That I’m pregnant.

(I made these shoes for my little girl.

I did not make them up, it is a Heather Bailey pattern but I love them!)

3: My job.

4: My friends who know me and still love me.

5: My parents (I get to have 4!)

6: Snow! I love living in Utah which I think is the most beautiful state!

Fall is the Best

Fall is my favorite season I love when it is warm during the days and cool during the nights and you can smell the air turning crisp. Clint and I went to Big Cottonwood Canyon yesterday to see the leaves changing. We went on a short hike and sat by a river and just enjoyed the weather and scenery. Don’t miss this, just go on a short drive up the canyon if you can, it is amazing.
