When I arrived at work today I went downstairs to fill up my watter bottle and get my usual mug for green tea and I found a free glazed doughnut with sprinkles waiting for me.

The sign being that I got a little teary eyed about it.

But seriously what could be better than a free doughnut that surprises you?

So I did some research after my last post and found that “go aheads” is actually used in the South Pacific in reference to flip-flops. So, there you go, my family is not crazy. Here are the names for go aheads around the world:

Flip-flops are also known as jandals in New Zealand, infradito (between-toes) in Italy, chappal, Hawaii chappal, Qainchi (scissor-like) chappals in India and Pakistan, thongs in Australiaand Canada, slip-slops (or just slops) in South Africa, go-aheads in the South Pacific, ojotas or chancletas in Spain, chancletas or sandalias in Mexico, Central America and South America, japanke (lit. Japanese) in Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro, japonki (lit. Japanese [women]) in Poland, chinelos in Brazil, kafkafim in Israel, sayonares in Greece, tsokara in Greek Cyprus, vietnámi papucs (lit. Vietnamese slippers) in Hungary, and tsinelas or chinelas in the Philippines. In Hawaii and several other places around the world, they may be called “slippers“.

In Uganda they are called slippers and are not to be worn out of the house. It is a class thing there.

Go Aheads

The weather is finally warm.

So today Eva gets to wear her new flip flops. Growing up we called flip flops “Go Aheads”; did anyone else? It is the perfect name for them since it is extremely difficult to walk backwards in go aheads.

Eva’s feet are perfect for go aheads since she has a big space between her first two toes.

I love these toes.

I also love this hat she has.

BTW:

I slept with my clothes again last night.

Stumbling to bed

I hate it when I fall asleep on the couch and wake up at 3 a.m. and stumble in to my bedroom to find my bed covered with clothes I needed to put away but was too lazy to do so. I can’t throw them on the floor, I can’t put them away, I don’t want to sleep on them. So I push them aside and sleep next to them. I ended up kicking them off to find some cool spots to rest my hot feet.

Whatever. I am lazy.
And yes this happens a lot.

Let’s be honest it will probably happen again tonight.

my hair is bored and has revolted

I decided a few weeks ago that life is too short to have boring hair.
What I have learned through trying to not have boring hair is that I actually have boring hair. It is flat and lifeless and quite depressed.
Today in my attempts to have fantastic hair I have ended up having old lady hair which may be worse than bored hair.
It would be nice if they would offer a community ed class on how to do hair.
I love the messy beach hair look and try to attain that on a regular basis but lately my hair has decided that it is tired of trying so hard and will not sit up at the root no matter what kind of root booster I use which results in a flat against my head, bed head style with a little static thrown in for good measure.
I must partly blame the fact that I am growing out my bangs; Growing out bangs always puts a damper on any style. I must also blame Eva because if it were not for her love and adoration of my hair I would have shaved off the bitch a long time ago.

Case in point:

It literally snowed all day yesterday and when I woke up there was lots of snow covering everything. It then snowed a little this morning and I am remembering that Mother Nature is a bitch and has a very mean sense of humor for this April Fools day.

On a more positive note I love this cheese:

It makes me unreasonably happy.

…they have a candy shell that coats them that makes them way better than regular whoppers! I love them. I love the blue and yellow that is left on my fingers because I grab a handful at a time and then bite each of them in half and melt the malt part with my tongue and then crunch on the chocolate and candy part and grind the candy part to a fine powder before I swallow it. I eat them until I am sick and then I wait until I am not sick anymore and then I eat more.

Yes, I am talking about robins egg whoppers again!

…hooray for February!!! January is finally over!

Have you noticed the days are getting longer?

February is going to fly by and then it will be March the month of green and Daylight Savings!
And then April the month of daffodils and tulips!
And then May the month of growth and then June when summer begins!!!!

I can’t wait for the earth to wake up.

There is a blog I read just so that I can get irritated and claim the person a narcissist over and over. I don’t know why I keep going back. I just usually find myself going “Are you kidding me! Another beautiful picture of yourself posing in your perfect shoes and letting us all know how amazing you are?” I should really stop reading it but I am a girl and sometimes there is that inane urge to feel better about myself by making fun of someone else.

Anyways it made me think we are all pretty narcissistic and so then I felt guilty.

Here are the ways that I am a narcissist:

I fully believe if you don’t know me you are missing out.

I am hilarious

My kid and husband are better than yours.

I have to prove to you I am right even if you admit you think I am. (What the hell how annoying!)

If you knew what was going on in my head you would agree with me on everything.

I have a blog.

Now let’s all go to my forum and discuss how amazing I am. I will be chatting on my forum live for 1 hour so hurry and get there when I am on or you might miss out on my amazing wit and beauty.

Ok, so I don’t have a forum and I am just making fun of that person again. Hahahahaha. I am hilarious. Seriously I am totally giggling at myself.
