About Me
I started blogging at the end of April of 2008. I had no idea what it was all about but as soon as I started I was addicted. Writing is my outlet. It helps me keep a handle on life. When I was little I loved writing stories and as I grew older I wrote poetry. I have always kept a journal and now this is my journal. I wish I would have pursued writing in school but school and I did not suit each other. I love learning but I hate all the rules that come with writing papers. I write how I speak which is horribly incorrect. I do try though. I read up on proper usage occasionally.
This is your warning: This blog does not contain perfect English or follow the rules of grammar perfectly. Continue at your own risk. Who gives a #%@! about an Oxford Comma?
I am becoming a 30 something this year and my marriage will also hit decade status. Clint and I had our first baby last January. She is Eva (pronounced foreva) and I have joined the ranks of working motherhood. The juggle can get intense…but it is totally worth it.
The reason for the name of my blog is that my parents call me Bird due to the fact I had bird legs as a child and I ate like a bird. It also fits because I am aware of the fact that there are many people out there much smarter and wiser than me. This blog represents my journey through life and how I attempt to navigate with my limited experience.
When I began I had 3 rules:
never delete a post, be honest, have fun. I have kept them.
A rule I will add is to not edit myself so much.
I am aware of the people who read and worry about what some will think and I am working to get past that and be more open about who I am. After all this is my blog.
I love to run and I ran my first marathon on October 3 in 3:49:45. I had a blast.
I have ran a couple half marathons and a couple big relays.
I love movies and I love dessert.
I firmly believe cookie dough should not be cooked into cookies.
I also believe that raisins should never be used in baking. I have started a non profit organization to further this cause.
I am a Mormon but I’m sure there are many Mormons who would disagree.
