Witness
Saturday, December 19th, 2009We were driving home from Christmas party tonight and witnessed an accident. I called the police. We couldn’t stop because we were on the freeway and there were a lot of people behind us. We knew there was not much we could do so I said a prayer and called the police. We were so close to getting hit I was bracing for impact. Anyways, I am so glad to be OK but so sad for the people who got into the accident. They hit the cement median straight on and hard. I have no idea how many people were in the car or how it happened.
These things sure make you think. I am so glad Clint was not on the phone and that he was alert. I just keep thinking about how I am always on the phone when I drive and how unsafe that is. I wouldn’t have been able to react that fast if I had been on the phone. I think I will turn my phone off when I am in the car. Seriously, it’s not worth it.
I beg you all to not text or talk on the phone while driving; not only for yourselves but for the others on the rode too. You just never know and you would hate to have regrets for something you could have avoided.
This is me loving you.
Merry Christmas.

How scary! I wonder anyone was hurt or killed. I’m glad you guys were safe. I don’t talk on my phone while driving nearly as much as I use to – but I will commit to doing it even less….or maybe not at all….
I have to admit to talking on the phone while driving, quite a lot.
I only text while stopped at a light. Adam will sometimes text while driving, and it makes me so mad. Especially since he’s a paramedic. He sees death all the time.
Wow, I’m really glad that you guys weren’t hurt.
Apparently NY State is loving me too. It has been illegal to talk (except hands free) on the phone while driving for about 8 years now. Last year they passed legislation making it illegal to text while driving, as well. Aaaaannnnnddd, last week NYC took it an extra step, making it illegal for cabbies to talk on the phone (hands free, or otherwise), while they have a fare. Honestly, I’m a little bit baffled why every state doesn’t have these laws, if nothing else to generate a little extra revenue for the municipalities.
scary!
