no sleep is fine by me

Eva still doesn’t sleep through the night and I don’t care.
She sleeps on her own until about 1 or 2 and then she cries. Both Clint and I love to “rescue” her from her crib. For some reason she always is standing when we rescue her. It is really cute. I have seen her do it and her eyes are completely closed and she crawls to the one end closest to the door and pulls herself up to standing and cries out.

When I get her out I am just too tired to put her back; well that is my excuse at least.

I love her little hands on my face and playing with my hair. I love hearing her breathing. I love the little sounds she makes when she moves around. I love waking up to her babbling to me the this “th, th” language. I love seeing her bright eyes in the dark. And lately she tries to pry our eyes open with her thumbs. It is the best. She always wakes up in the morning with a smile on her face. I wish her to be this happy forever. I wish her to always enjoy life and look forward to every new day.

I get about 5 hours of sleep per night but I don’t care because soon she will be sleeping through the night and I will miss her so much that I might just sneak in and steal her out of her crib and force her to sleep with me.

There is nothing better in the world than snuggling with a baby. Nothing.

  2. ooh, this is so sweet! It makes me want to snuggle up with a baby right now.

  3. also, where do you live? Utah? Near Provo?
Because if you ever need a babysitter I will play with your baby for you.

  4. My baby doesn’t sleep through the night either. Far from it in fact, because he’s up every 3-5 hours. But when I pick him up to feed him or snuggle, I can’t believe the feelings of the deepest love I’ve ever felt. Cheesy I know. But it’s what gets me through a whole year of not sleeping. There isn’t anything better….

  5. I agree, time with baby is such a treasure…even if it’s at 3AM.

  6. I love this! I can totally relate. I remember getting a rush of excitement when my kids would call out for me in the middle of the night. And still, when Violet comes up and climbs in my bed in the middle of the night, I pull her in, wrap her up, and snuggle with her. I love it so much – I don’t care if she’s 4….she is welcome in my bed! Some day soon she will be too big to climb into my bed with me, so I am enjoying it while I can.

  7. you are such a good mom, I can’t say I am that happy in the night when my kids wake up. I miss Eva!

  8. Can’t wait to experience that! :)

  9. Snuggling is THE BEST! I don’t like waking up in the middle of the night — it takes most of the remainder of the night for me to get back to sleep. But, it’s worth it when I wake up in the morning and they’re right there snuggling.

  10. I get woken up in the middle of the night by a crying cat, but it doesn’t make me feel good. If she comes and snuggles by my face, without rubbing her wet nose on me, it’s sweet, but that’s rare.

You are a very good mother. Eva is a lucky little girl.
