rose colored glasses…I do have them…somewhere
Wednesday, August 26th, 2009I think I am going to barf in my boots. Seriously. Some people have no grip on reality. Not every day is perfect and happy and loverly. I can put rose colored glasses on just like everyone else but there are good days and bad days and that’s OK. If you don’t have bad days then you can’t appreciate the good. And if you read my blog regularly you must know that I really know how to appreciate the good. No really I just feel like when I blog I am more complaining then not. Sorry about that.
So I will put on my rosy glasses for you.
I actually went running the other day and the weather was gorgeous.

It had just rained and so there were all these big puffy clouds I just wanted to reach up and grab them.
Utah’s mountains are so wonderful. I love running and seeing them and I love when the air is cool and wet and the clouds provide me shade. I also had a tail wind so I felt like wonder woman being pushed by the wind and pulled by the jogging stroller. I love seeing Eva’s cute little feet while I run. (imagine cute picture here) Yes, I got the clouds and not my cute daughter’s feet.
I pulled out and dusted off my Achtung Baby album by U2. I know it is not hip right now to like something so mainstream but seriously it is one of my very favorite albums. Who is not “tryin’ to throw your arms around the world” or wondering “who’s gonna ride your wild horses” or who doesn’t want “to help the lepers in your head”? Love it, love it. Bono is a little kooky but really we all love the red stuff and we get to help Africa while being trendy. But hey, who likes trendy stuff? (I’m pointing a finger at you Mac people with your red Ipod shuffles.)
So let’s all put on our running clothes and our rose colored glasses and our red Ipod shuffles and click on Mysterious Ways and go for a good run and check out our amazingly rosey world that has no problems.

I’m just wondering Tammy if the people with positive attitudes are the only ones wearing tinted glasses.
Bono wears tinted glasses. You should tell him to take them off and stop writing such awesome music that is so upbeat that you can go running to it.
I don’t think RAdiohead wears tinted sunglasses though. You should try running while listening to him sing “Creep” in your ear. Then decide if you prefer the tint or not.

I love that you wrote about Achtung Baby because I just put it in my car again after a (fairly long) hiatus. This album rocks. Seriously, I love it. I never get sick of it. To me it is timeless. (It is also us hanging out in 9th grade. Good times.)
