Summer Music

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

As all you Utahans (?) know June has been an extremely wet month for us. The rain clouds have brought with them some depression as well but apparently the worst is over and we are in for some HOT weather. By the way have you heard that Utah is the worst place with the swine flu?? I wonder if the weather has something to do with it. And apparently the swine flu is moving north; it was in Provo and now it is all over Draper and I was secretly planning a two week getaway to California but they have told people to try to avoid flying if they can so I feel trapped and weak and pissed off at the stupid swine flu. I am trying to keep my immune system up, up, up; as well as staying mentally positive about it all feeling that if I move in an atmosphere of love and not think about it I will not invite the swine flu into my life thus avoiding my 5 month old whom I am really worried about.

Summer music you ask???? That’s what you thought you were getting into when you started this post right?? OK, OK.
So, with the sun comes my list of summer music that you should all definitely dance around to in a see through white tank top with no bra paired with some cute jean capris while grilling chicken and corn outside wherever you have the room to do so. Why all of these things?? The tank is for your freedom and comfort and for your husband or partner or whomever gets the pleasure of looking at you (assuming your kids are small enough to not notice or care) and the grilling because it is summer. Summer food is the best and smelling like a summer grill is the best too. So, yes, onto the list of music:
(in no particular order)
Erasure
Credence Clearwater Revival
Cake
50′s bubblegum (i.e.: the Stand By Me soundtrack)
Beach Boys (of course)
The Andrews Sisters
Amelie Soundtrack
The Killers
Sublime
Bob Marley
Tom Petty
Vampire Weekend
Weezer
Bryan Adams
That’s all I can think of for now but please add to it, I would love some suggestions.
Enjoy the summer.
Love to you.

  1. I really want you to re-consider your California getaway. I'm really missing my niece. Oh and you too but you know what I mean…

  2. Sounds like some good music. I will get my bra off, my tank top on and my grill going asap.

  3. I think my husband would like it if I did the whole tank top thing. Maybe I'll greet him this way when he comes home.

  4. Oh, and I'm currently listening to the Kings of Leon. Don't know if it's summer music, but I like it.

  5. You forgot one on your list of music. And for the life of me my mind just went blank dangit I hate when that happens….Every time that song comes on…not very often since it was in the 90's I always think of you dancing to it while driving down the mountain from the hotsprings in springville one summer when you took me home OH I just remembered it was the cranberries.
