Sugar Free Weekend

Tuesday, May 12th, 2009

I went to San Clemente over the weekend and actually stuck to my candida diet. It was really hard especially because we drove and I love rode trip treats.  I kept forgetting and would think I could eat certain things but then right before I would get ready to eat it I would remember and be heart broken. My heart broke many times.

Here is a list of my heart breaks:
Dried Mangoes
Bread at Cheesecake Factory
Cheesecake at Cheesecake Factory
Lava Cake
Fig Newtons
Crepes with Strawberries and Nutella
Sorbet
Sweet Potatoes
Anything sweet at a gas station

I did mess up a few times like when I thought I was making a good decision and I bought beef jerky but it was honey glazed.  I had to eat it, it was too late and sooooooo good.  For mother’s day I splurged and got wheat pancakes and had some syrup on them.  I also ate a few pieces of bagette bread with garlic on it so I figured the garlic would attack the bread and it would be even.  Oh, and I had a starbucks double espresso shot since I decided that the peoples lives that were in the car were more important than my diet and it is the only thing that will keep me awake.  Hey, they are way better for your body than the Monster drinks.
All-in-all I am very proud of myself.  It was very hard and is still very hard.  Pretty much 99% of food has sugar in it.  It is paying off though.  I can already feel a difference.
I just went to Costco and bought salmon and brown rice chips.  Looking forward to my dinner and for dessert……..watermelon extra gum.  (It actually helps your mind to believe it if you announce while chewing the gum “This dessert is really good!”)

  4. you did awesome on our trip – and because you were eating healthy, it helped me to not indulge as much as I normally would have, so thanks.
