Goodbye 2008!!!!
Monday, December 29th, 2008So 2008 is coming to an end and a part of me is saying “Good riddens!”
2008 has been the worst and most life changing year of my life, all due to my own choices mind you. You know how there is this saying out there that goes “God will never give you anything that you can’t handle”? I realize that this saying is a nice warm cozy blanket to make us feel like we are strong enough to handle what comes our way but what about when we make the most idiotic decisions and God absolutely has nothing to do with them? What about when we make the most stupid decisions and completely ignore the signs that God is telling us to sit down and shut up and we make a complete mess of our lives?
Well I believe that if we recognize that we are stupid idiots and that we actually admit that we ignored the loud voices in our heads and ask God to help us clean up our messes then he will and he will do a grand job of it. This is when the saying “I never said it would be easy, I only said it would be worth it” comes in. The cleaning up of the mess is not that easy but if you surrender to it then everything will work out because God knows what is best.
This is basically my 2008 year summed up. I am so glad the year is over even though this doesn’t actually mean that all my messes have been cleaned up it does symbolize a new beginning which I embrace whole heartedly.
So on the my major life lessons of 2008 (can you hear the drum roll?):
- Don’t ignore the good voices or the loud, flashing neon signs telling you what to do.
- Allow your body to do what it is meant to do, if you stress out it messes things up and sends the wrong messages to your body.
- Pay attention to past answers you have received and trust them.
- Don’t turn off your brain, it is unwise.
- Follow your intuition about people. Women are born with great intuition if you listen and use it it will improve, if you ignore it you will lose it.
- Embrace your relationships and make them better and give back more than you receive.
- Tell the truth immediately and suffer the consequences immediately.
- Surrender to God’s will (do I sound like Bruce Almighty or what), his way is much better than trying to scramble about on your own
- Patience
- Stop, Look, Listen but maybe it should be Stop, Close Your Eyes, Hear
- Just keep praying, just keep praying (Finding Nemo, anyone….anyone?)
So there you go. You now can look forward to my goals for 2009 and they are some mighty good ones.
Happy New Year Everyone!!!!!
